Owens-Illinois (O-I), producent van glasverpakkingen, heeft onlangs het Cradle-to-Cradle (C2C) certificaat behaald. De C2C-certificatie is een duurzaamheidslabel voor bedrijven wereldwijd en in diverse sectoren.
Ook de Nederlandse fabrieken van O-I in Leerdam en Maastricht ontvingen de C2C-certificatie voor bruine, groene en flint glasverpakkingen.
De certificering is gebaseerd op vijf categorieën: gezonde materialen, hergebruik van materialen, waterbeheer, gebruik van duurzame energie en sociale verantwoordelijkheid.

Also the Dutch factories of O-I in Leerdam and Maastricht received the C2C certification for brown, green and flint glass packaging.
The certification is based on five categories: healthy materials, reuse of materials, water management, renewable energy and social responsibility.
